About this scheme
The Department of Tourism, Government of West Bengal, introduced the West Bengal Incentive Scheme on February 22, 2021. Its purpose is to encourage entrepreneurship and generate employment within the state's tourism sector.
Operating as a sub-scheme titled "Tourism Promotion Assistance in lieu of Interest Subsidy," it extends financial incentives to qualifying tourism projects and hotel units. The scheme is designed to help both new and established entrepreneurs establish or grow their tourism ventures, which in turn supports economic development and job creation across West Bengal.
By providing SGST assistance, the scheme offsets interest costs and thereby reduces the financial load on participants.
