About this scheme
The ZED Certification Reimbursement scheme operates under the Jharkhand MSME Promotion Policy 2023. Its purpose is to encourage Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to take up quality and environmental management standards.
ZED (Zero Defect Zero Effect) certification is a Government of India programme that evaluates and certifies MSMEs on quality, productivity, energy efficiency and environmental impact. Jharkhand offers financial support towards the cost of obtaining this certification.
Through this support, the state government aims to strengthen the competitiveness of its MSMEs, raise product quality, cut waste and encourage sustainable manufacturing practices. The incentive lightens the financial load on units working towards global standards, and supports a culture of continuous improvement and sustainable growth across the state's industrial ecosystem.

How applications are assessed
The Government of Jharkhand department concerned scrutinises each ZED Certification Reimbursement application. Verification covers the unit's MSME status, whether the ZED certification is genuine, and whether the claimed expenses hold up. The application is also checked against every condition laid down in the Jharkhand MSME Promotion Policy 2023.
Once verification is complete and approval granted, the reimbursement amount due to the applicant unit is taken forward for disbursement.
