The Department of MSME, Government of Madhya Pradesh, serves as the state's nodal body for the Madhya Pradesh Startup Policy 2022. Operating through mpmsme.gov.in and startup.mp.gov.in, it delivers financial assistance, infrastructure, and facilitation services to entrepreneurs and startups, with a particular emphasis on tier-2 cities, tribal regions, and women-led enterprises.
The department administers several schemes, including the Mukhyamantri Udyam Kranti Yojana (MMUKY), launched in April 2022, which offers collateral-free business loans of ₹1–50 lakh for manufacturing and ₹1–25 lakh for services or trading, accompanied by a 3% per annum interest subsidy for youth aged 18–40. It also runs the State Innovation Challenge, providing grants up to ₹1 crore for startups addressing high-impact socio-economic issues, with evaluations conducted by a committee chaired by the Chief Secretary. Incubator support includes capital grants up to ₹1 crore for new incubators, operational assistance up to ₹10 lakh per year for three years, and special grants for Livelihood Business Incubators in tribal districts.
To date, over 5,000 startups have registered under the MP Startup Policy, generating more than 50,000 employment opportunities. The department welcomes DPIIT-recognised startups with MP-based GST registration, women entrepreneurs, SC/ST/OBC founders, youth self-employment seekers, and established MSMEs seeking expansion support across manufacturing, agritech, food processing, IT, healthcare, and renewable energy.
