About Department of MSME, Government of Madhya Pradesh

The Department of MSME, Government of Madhya Pradesh serves as the state's nodal agency for the Madhya Pradesh Startup Policy 2022. It operates through mpmsme.gov.in and startup.mp.gov.in, delivering financial assistance, infrastructure, and facilitation services to entrepreneurs and startups. Tier-2 cities, tribal regions, and women-led enterprises receive particular attention in its outreach.

The MP Startup Policy 2022 extends a sustenance allowance of ₹10,000 per month for one year, margin money assistance of up to ₹12 lakh, interest subsidy of up to 5–6% over seven years, lease rental assistance of ₹5,000 per month for three years, patent assistance of up to ₹5 lakh, and employment generation support of ₹5,000 per employee per month for up to 25 employees. Under the Mukhyamantri Udyam Kranti Yojana, launched in April 2022, collateral-free business loans of ₹1–50 lakh for manufacturing and ₹1–25 lakh for services and trading are available with a 3% per annum interest subsidy for youth aged 18–40. The State Innovation Challenge awards special grants of up to ₹1 crore to selected startups addressing high-impact socio-economic problems, evaluated by a committee chaired by the Chief Secretary. Incubators may receive capital grants of up to ₹1 crore for new facilities, operational assistance of up to ₹10 lakh per year for three years, and special grants of up to ₹1 crore for Livelihood Business Incubators in tribal districts.

More than 5,000 startups have registered under the MP Startup Policy, generating over 50,000 employment opportunities. Applicants include DPIIT-recognised startups with MP-based GST registration, women entrepreneurs, SC/ST/OBC founders, youth self-employment seekers, and established MSMEs pursuing expansion — spanning manufacturing, agritech, food processing, IT, healthcare, and renewable energy.
