IPR Reimbursement Scheme

The IPR Reimbursement Scheme, administered by the Goa Startup Mission (SITPC), provides financial support to startups based in Goa for their intellectual property registration expenses. This assistance extends to both national and international IP applications, covering filing fees and all related costs. Importantly, reimbursement is available regardless of whether the IP is ultimately registered.

Operating under the Goa Start-up Policy 2021, the scheme offers financial aid to innovative ventures within the state. It is designed to alleviate the cost burden associated with securing intellectual property rights, thereby encouraging startup activity in Goa.

- Confirm that your startup holds SITPC certification and maintains an operational office in Goa. - Proceed with IP registration, whether national or international, and pay all applicable government and attorney charges through digital means. - Compile the necessary paperwork: evidence of successful IP registration or the filing receipt, original payment documentation (itemised statements, invoices, receipts), a comprehensive report, proof of the Goa office address, and a cancelled cheque from the startup. - Submit the completed application and supporting documents via the designated Apply URL. - SITPC assesses each submission and can approve or decline it; reimbursement disbursements are determined by application seniority or SITPC’s judgement, subject to available funds.

SITPC reviews all applications and holds the exclusive authority to approve or decline them. Reimbursements are disbursed according to seniority or as recommended by SITPC, contingent on the availability of allocated funds.
