Haryana Startup Policy 2022 Patent Cost Reimbursement Scheme

The Haryana Startup Policy 2022, implemented by the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Haryana, with support from Startup Haryana, provides the state’s framework for nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship. Reimbursable expenses include patent attorney professional fees, official filing fees, examination charges, and other statutory costs. The scheme applies to domestic applications in India and international filings through the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) or directly in foreign jurisdictions. It covers product patents, process patents, and design registrations as defined by the policy. Claims may be made upon patent grant or partially at the filing stage, subject to policy guidelines and applicant milestones.

The application process for the Patent Cost Reimbursement Scheme is conducted entirely online. Eligible startups must follow these steps:

- **Apply through the Invest Haryana Portal**: Startups must submit their application via the Invest Haryana portal. This platform serves as the central point for all startup-related applications and support schemes managed by the state government. - **Upload DPIIT Recognition Proof**: Applicants are required to upload the official certificate or proof of DPIIT recognition. This document confirms the startup's eligibility status. - **Provide Patent Documentation**: Relevant documents must be submitted, including copies of patent application receipts (indicating the date and nature of filing). If the patent has already been granted, the official patent grant certificate should be provided. - **Submit Invoices and Payment Records**: Detailed invoices from the patent attorney or IP firm, along with corresponding payment receipts, must be uploaded.
