About this scheme
Moving goods from Ladakh to a port is costly, and the Sustainable Industrial Policy Ladakh 2022-27 absorbs the bulk of that expense. An industrial unit that exports finished goods from Ladakh to a destination outside India may claim 60% of the transportation cost incurred up to the international air or sea port located within the country. The ceiling is Rs. 5 lakh per year per unit, and the benefit runs for a maximum of five years.
New and existing industrial units are both eligible, whether or not they have undertaken substantial expansion. The incentive is available only to units registered as export units.
A unit must pick one of two options: this Export Subsidy or the Transport Subsidy under Incentive 6.3 of the policy. Claiming both is not permitted.
