About this scheme
Under Clause 3.4.7.i.b of the Meghalaya Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy (MIIPP) 2024, Medium and Large Units can claim a subsidy covering half the cost of Power Generating Sets bought for captive energy use. Non-conventional and renewable energy systems fall within the scope of this provision.
Two ceilings apply. Conventional Sets attract a maximum of Rs 50 lakhs, while Non-Conventional or Renewable Energy systems are capped at Rs 1 crore.

How to apply
1. Install and commission the captive power generating set at the unit located in Meghalaya, and complete the purchase. 2. Retain the invoices, payment receipts, and evidence of commissioning or completion. 3. Submit the claim to the Commerce and Industries Department via the Invest Meghalaya single window. 4. The amount is disbursed once the department has verified the eligible cost.
How applications are assessed
The Commerce and Industries Department reviews each claim under MIIPP 2024, checking it against the eligible cost and the size category of the unit concerned. No competitive selection process applies.
