About this scheme
Under Clause 3.4.5.i of the Meghalaya Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy (MIIPP) 2024, a micro or small unit can obtain a subsidy against the actual amount it spends on transporting raw materials within Meghalaya, as well as finished goods manufactured in the state, by inland routes.
The ceiling on the subsidy and the period over which it may be claimed depend on whether the unit falls in the priority sector. A priority sector unit is eligible for as much as Rs 15 lakh per annum, spread over 4 years.
A unit outside the priority sector may claim a maximum of Rs 10 lakhs, and only for 3 years.

How to apply
- Procure inputs from within Meghalaya and carry out manufacturing of finished products inside the state - Keep freight invoices and transporter receipts on record for every claim year - Submit the yearly transportation subsidy claim through the Invest Meghalaya single window - Disbursement of the subsidy takes place against expenditure actually incurred and verified, subject to the annual ceiling
How applications are assessed
The Commerce and Industries Department reviews each claim under MIIPP 2024, checking it against the eligible cost and the size category of the unit concerned. No competitive selection process applies.
