About this scheme
For a factory being equipped in Mizoram, freight is a substantial cost because of the state's distance from manufacturing centres. Under the Industrial and Investment Policy of Mizoram 2025, half of that cost is refunded — 50% of the actual expense of moving plant and machinery by railway, by road, or by a mix of both modes.
No rupee ceiling is set out in the clause, so the amount of benefit rises with the freight bill actually incurred. Claims must be filed within one year from the date of commencement of production, which in practice means submitting the claim soon after the machines are installed and operational.
