Frequently asked questions
Who is eligible for this scheme?
MSEs registered under Udyam, where SC/ST entrepreneurs hold more than 51% shareholding, are eligible, provided they possess a valid Import & Export Code (IEC) and a Registration Cum Membership Certificate (RCMC) from a recognised Export Promotion Council.
How much reimbursement can I receive?
You can claim a reimbursement of up to 80% of the Export Promotion Council membership fee you paid, or ₹20,000 (excluding GST and taxes), whichever is lower, in a financial year. This applies to annual subscription fees, one-time entry fees, or other membership charges.
What is an Export Promotion Council (EPC) and why join one?
Export Promotion Councils are government-recognised bodies that promote Indian exports in specific sectors, and membership gives micro and small enterprises access to export leads, trade fairs, buyer-seller meets, and regulatory guidance. This scheme lowers the cost barrier of joining such councils for SC/ST-owned enterprises.
Do I need an IEC to apply?
Yes. A valid Import & Export Code (IEC) issued by DGFT is required, along with a valid RCMC from the EPC for which you are claiming the membership fee reimbursement.
What documents are required?
Applicants must submit the Udyam Registration copy, PAN card, GST number (if applicable), caste certificate of proprietor/partners/directors, and shareholding proof (Partnership Deed or MOA/AOA showing >51% SC/ST ownership). Also required are attested IEC and RCMC copies, the original or attested membership fee payment receipt with GST invoice, and a cancelled cheque of the enterprise's current account.
Is this a recurring benefit or one-time?
The reimbursement applies to eligible membership fees paid within a financial year, so enterprises can claim it annually when they renew their EPC membership.
