Odisha Green Hydrogen Power Subsidy

Under the Industrial Policy Resolution 2022 of Odisha, manufacturing units producing green hydrogen and green ammonia can claim reimbursement on power tariffs. The incentive is intended to bring down running costs for such units.

Through this power tariff subsidy, the Government of Odisha seeks to draw investment into clean energy manufacturing within the state. The scheme applies to units being set up as well as those being expanded, and is linked to India's energy transition objectives and the development of a greener industrial base.

The provision forms part of Odisha's wider effort to build a green industry hub, offering continuing support to new and existing units so they can grow and remain competitive.

Applications for this power tariff reimbursement are ordinarily made by submitting a formal application to the Odisha Industries Department, or to whichever nodal agency has been designated under the Industrial Policy Resolution 2022. Supporting documents are usually required, covering the unit's establishment, the date commercial production began, and power consumption particulars obtained from local DISCOMs or GRIDCO. Once the guidelines governing this incentive are fully in force, application forms and further particulars will be obtainable through the Industries Department's official portal or its offices.
