Industries Department, Government of Odisha

The Industries Department is a wing of the Government of Odisha. It works to advance industrial development across the State, which in turn supports employment generation, draws in investment and adds to the State's economic development. Manufacturing sits at the centre of its remit, and it approaches this through value addition to the State's natural resources, alongside technology upgradation and the building of strategic capabilities.

The department's subject areas span industrial development and policy, industries, foreign trade, export promotion and marketing, infrastructure development, and the corporations, boards and societies that function under it.

Delivery is largely routed through attached bodies: IDCO handles industrial infrastructure, land and construction; IPICOL looks after investment promotion, ease of doing business and focus-sector advisory; OFDC is responsible for film sector development; and OCAC provides technology support. Businesses typically deal with the department through these agencies and the Invest Odisha platform.
