UP MSME Green Audit Reimbursement

The Uttar Pradesh MSME Promotion Policy 2022 provides an incentive for existing MSME units in the state that take up sustainable business practices. Under this provision, units can claim reimbursement for services connected to Green Practices and Environmental Audits. Audits addressing energy conservation and water conservation are also covered.

By meeting part of the cost of these assessments, the Government of Uttar Pradesh seeks to help MSMEs pinpoint where their operational environmental footprint can be improved. The stated outcomes are longer-term sustainability, reduced costs and better compliance with environmental regulations.

Such documentation generally comprises the original invoices issued by the audit service providers and the full audit reports setting out the scope and findings. - Once the submitted documents have been verified in detail and the policy's terms and conditions found to have been met, the claim for reimbursement is processed by the relevant department under the Government of Uttar Pradesh, MSME Department. Assessment under this reimbursement scheme is administrative rather than competitive.
